Daniel Göritz, born in 1965 in East-Berlin, studied classical
guitar in Berlin, Manchester U.K. (also composition) and New
York.
1994-96 Fellowship and Doctor of Musical Arts Degree
from the Manhattan School of Music New York.
In 1999 he moved back to Berlin, where he teaches as a professor for
classical guitar at the renowned “Hanns Eisler” Academy of
Music.
As a composer, he collaborated with various ensembles
and soloists such as the KNM Ensemble Berlin or the Trio
Fibonacci.
He won numerous prices and stipends. His activities
are wide-spread between Classical and Contemporary Music,
being active as a interpreter, composer, improviser and editor.
As an ensemble- and orchestra musician Daniel Göritz has
performed with some of the most distinguished Orchestras (such
as the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra) and Ensembles (such as
KNM Berlin or Ensemble Modern) under the direction of
renowned conductors.
An important focus lies on
contemporary music and includes the usage of various kind of
guitars, electronics and free improvisation.
